Freemasons Freemasonry has been incorrectly labelled a secret society when in fact it is a society with secrets. All men, who acknowledge and meet the necessary tenets for joining, are free to join our society.
Members are free to acknowledge that they are Freemasons. Our secrets mainly relate to our traditional mode of recognition.
Port Douglas-Mossman Our lodge has a long history and was originally commenced in 1883 as Douglas Lodge No. 2052 English Constitution. In 1910 the Douglas Lodge sponsored the creation of the Mossman Lodge No.3495 English Constitution.
Both Lodges aligned with the Queensland Grand Lodge and following the unification of the then two Grand Lodges in Queensland, to the new body - United Grand Lodge of Queensland in 1921.
